How to play

Where in the Bible? is a free daily game that helps you learn the shape of the Bible. Each day there are five verses. For each one, read it and slide to where you think it sits between Genesis and Revelation.

The Bible as a line of 31,102 verses

Imagine every verse of the Bible laid out in order, from Genesis 1:1 at the start to Revelation 22:21 at the end: 31,102 verses in all. The Old Testament takes up the first three quarters, and the New Testament begins with Matthew at verse 23,146. Your guess is a point on that line.

Scoring

Each verse is scored out of 100: the closer your guess, the higher the score, with 100 for the exact verse. Five verses make a day, so a perfect day is 500. You see how far away you were, which book you landed in, and where the verse really is.

Learn as you play

After every guess you'll see what the verse means and where it fits in the story of the Bible. Some days have a theme: the five verses explore one topic, such as trust or forgiveness, revealed after your last guess with a question to take into your day and a short prayer.

Every day, new verses

Everyone gets the same five verses each day, drawn from thousands of carefully chosen passages, so you can compare scores with friends and keep a streak going. Past days, with every verse and its explanation, are in the archive, and our guide to the books of the Bible shows where each book sits.

The Bible text

All Scripture is from the Berean Standard Bible (BSB), a modern, accurate English translation that has been placed in the public domain. Verses are quoted exactly.
